Independent Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Assistance Projects
1.
Training Introduction
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plays a central
role in strengthening development effectiveness, improving accountability, and
ensuring that development assistance projects deliver measurable and
sustainable results. As donor priorities evolve and funding becomes
increasingly performance-based, the demand for independent, credible, and
methodologically sound M&E systems continues to grow.
This training provides participants with a
comprehensive understanding of M&E principles, methodologies, tools,
reporting standards, evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and the use
of findings for strategic decision-making. It prepares participants to
conduct independent evaluations, manage monitoring systems, and ensure
transparency and accountability in development assistance programmes.
2.
Training Objective
The programme aims to equip participants with the
ability to:
- Understand
the principles and frameworks of development M&E.
- Design
and implement independent monitoring systems.
- Conduct
evaluations using globally accepted methodologies.
- Apply
quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques.
- Assess
performance indicators and measure project results.
- Produce
high-quality evaluation reports for donors and stakeholders.
- Use
M&E findings for decision-making, learning, and improvement.
- Strengthen
institutional M&E capacities for development effectiveness.
