Participatory and Rapid Rural Appraisal (PRA & RRA) Workshop
TRAINING
INTRODUCTION
Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Rapid Rural Appraisal
(RRA) are widely used approaches that allow development practitioners to
work collaboratively with rural communities to identify challenges, map
local resources, and plan sustainable solutions. These approaches prioritize
local knowledge, inclusive engagement, and visual, low-literacy-friendly
tools, making them especially effective for community-based planning and
development.
This 5-day (or modular) workshop is designed to
equip participants with practical skills, facilitation techniques, and
applied field experience in both PRA and RRA. Through simulations, case
studies, and field-based exercises, participants will learn to facilitate
community-led analysis that informs project design, implementation, monitoring,
and evaluation.
